Administrative hearings are held, sometimes on the record, regarding compromises (forgiveness) of overpaid benefits or of employer contribution and/or interest due.
The claimant or employer requesting a compromise should provide evidence, such as a financial affidavit, to support the request.
RSA 282-A:29 Adjustment of Overpaid Benefit Account by Compromise
The commissioner may, with the approval of the attorney general, effect by written stipulation such settlement of any overpaid benefit account due under the provisions of this chapter as he or she may deem to be for the best interests of the state; and the payment of the sum so agreed upon shall be a full satisfaction of such overpaid benefit account.
